Key Concepts
๐ Learning Completions
In order to track learner performance, your application needs to send a Completion Statement to the Portico LMS. This tells us the experience is over, and the final outcome.
๐น Individual vs Modular Applications
The Portico LMS supports two types of VR applications:
Modular Applications These apps include multiple learning experiences, often accessed from a lobby or menu. Each experience (or module) can be set up separately in the LMS and assigned to users. When launched, the Portico App tells your app which module to start. Youโll also need to define when each module is complete by sending a completion statement.
Individual Applications These apps contain just one learning experience. You only need to send one completion statement when the experience is finished.
โน๏ธ When you integrate your VR app with Portico, it will still work as usual outside the Portico LMSโPortico features will simply be inactive. This means you donโt need to maintain separate versions of your app.
โ MDM Integration
The Portico LMS supports native MDM integration with ArborXR and ManageXR, allowing customers to sync their content setup directly from their MDM accounts.
Modular Apps have an additional process: during MDM sync, Portico identifies and breaks them into individual modules. This lets customers manage and assign each module separately for more precise learner configuration.
